Yea! The new model info has been released
Will the new model be UHF TX/RX only like the original or does it have VHF TX/RX (i.e.; to bridge to a VHF repeater)

UHF only.... Answered my own question after reading the release notes:
Are there any plans for a VHF version?
The openSPOT2 has a built-in antenna for the UHF band. Currently we don’t plan to ship a VHF (or dual band) version of the product.

Without vhf is not a good news , for example in Italy we are working on pocsag on vhf band , and should be perfect in some cases to put on the network some vhf repeaters , practically the only innovation is WiFi capability and the usb/C connector , and why not an internal battery ????

Internal battery would significantly raise the required safety testing and approval.

Wow, I just assumed the openspot2 had VHF. I guess I should have researched this a bit more before I ordered one (never assume as they say). I cant imagine why they wouldn't have VHF, I understand that UHF is the most commonly used band but quite allot of us only have DMR/P25 VHF band ex commercial radios

Well, wished I would have found this thread before I purchased my 2 OpenSpot2 units expecting them to be VHF/UHF.
