Is the USB C port on the new openSPOT2 host mode capable? I know it'll be the power input port, as well as the serial console port, but could it be used in the future with a software update to drive a nextion screen?
Having the ability to add an inexpensive touchscreen to the openSPOT and software support for it within the openSPOT would really make life a lot easier. You could have the contact information and talkgroup information right there on screen, be able to switch profiles, drop a talkgroup even if you can't use the radio to do so, and plenty of things I probably haven't thought of yet.
If the chip connected to the USB C port has the ability to be used this way I really hope you'll consider adding nextion screen support. That might make it worth switching to a wifi only device for me.

The USB-C port on the openSPOT2 enumerates as a virtual COM port for the serial console, just like the openSPOT1. We haven't decided yet about additional USB features.

Having the ability to tether the OS2 to a cellular hotspot or phone/tablet for Internet access would be AMAZING!!!
I love the idea of wireless, but there’s still no substitute for a wired connection. Less latency, no opportunity for interference (dense Wi-Fi environments) and MUCH MORE SECURE!!!
Please consider adding this capability!!! Thanks!
