I have have been using the original OpenSpot since it first started shipping. Love the product, ease of use and reliability. I like others waited for the wifi feature to be added to the 2nd generation device. I have been using the new OpenSpot2 for a week now and what more can I say, FANTASTIC product. Well worth the wait and a must if you are going to work Dstar and DMR. The original stays at my home QTH and the OpenSpot2 is now mounted in my truck, attached to the built in wifi hotspot.
For you DirecTV users out there that plan to use an OpenSpot in your home....
This football weekend was rainy and I spent both days playing with the OpenSpot2. I noticed that my DirecTV remote was very intermittent and the receiver non-responsive at times. I rebooted the DirecTV receiver twice, swapped the batteries in the remote and even replaced the remote itself with no improvement in connectivity. Sat and reviewed what was new in my setup and low and behold the only change in my home was the OpenSpot2. I unplugged the OpenSpot2 and BINGO, my remote started working fine. Plugged it back in and the interference returned. I had used the default frequency setup in the OpenSpot2 and it was in direct conflict with the RF frequency setup in the DirecTV remote. I only use the DirecTV remotes in RF mode and found that all of my televisions in the house were hosed when using the default frequency setup in the OpenSpot2. I changed the frequency to 445.600 and everything works fine.

In the US, lots of little remote control devices (alarm gadgets like door-open and glass-break detectors, car key fobs, [and DirecTV remotes, apparently!] etc.) are in the 432-435 MHz band. Tune around that range someday, and you'll hear lots of data bursts. Avoid that band with your OS to avoid problems with the OS or the other devices.

I have DirecTV but use 446.575 for the OS1 and 446.600 for the OS2. Have never had an issue.
