Vibrated voice...as drunk OM !!!
melpes69@gmail.com
Dear all, I've recently bought Openspot2 and I'm using it with TYT MD380. I've problems related to voice quality (my MD380 works perfectly on normal repeaters). I see on MODEM section there are several parameters to set. Any one of you can please share with me, if he /she owns and MD380, what parameters has set up to have a perfect transmission and reception ? Thanks in advance for your support.

Does your openSPOT2 show a BER (Bit Error Rate) greater than 1% when you're transmitting on your MD380? If so, you might want to check out the
AutoCal connector

vocoder is right. Please also test with the openSPOT2's built-in local echo on DMR ID 9999 to rule out network issues during testing.

@vocoder @HA2NON... Thanks for your indications.
I've performed both your indications. Now offset is zero Hz BUT....how did i solve ? The main issue was.... hotspot too much close to router, PC, chargers, power supplies...a lot of RF shit.
Also local echo was really terrible...
I've had the idea to place hotspot far from there RF sources and now it works really really better. No more "drunk and rolling voice" on local echo and as feedback from other OMs.
I suppose it was a RF interference problem related.
I will let you know if I will face additional issues on my next steps.
Up to now...THANKS so much !

I'm facing still the same problem. I suppose some RF is disturbing. Can it be coming from openspot2 charger ? Using within car, taking electricity from car USB...it seems working perfectly. I'm buying some ferrite blocks to check if putting them over openspot charger...this bad effect disappears.
Just to to update the topic...haven't found yet a definitive solution. Any additional suggestion from previous experiences of other users ?

I'm having the same problem! Even status messages like 9997 and 9998 are sometimes garbled. I'll try moving the hotspot farther from the wireless router. Please keep me posted on how your problem resolution goes. Bob
