BaconRadio
Hi-
I've been listening to Worldwide/91 a fair bit. Today I thought jammers had taken over. I kept hearing the same one second of audio repeated over and over and over again. When I tuned into Hoseline I didn't hear anything like that, so it was obviously my radio or the OpenSpot. I looked at the OpenSpot LED and it was red, so it was transmitting.
I switched away and came back, and the OpenSpot grabbed a new one-second clip and played it endlessly. I rebooted the unit twice, same problem. I unplugged it twice, same problem.
I then reset the unit by pushing the button on the back of the unit. I signed into the access point and set it to log into my WiFi network. A couple of times it wouldn't log in and simply flashed blue until I hard reset the unit again. Then it would log in, connect to Brandmeister, and then disconnect. It kept giving me an audio message every time I tried to connect via Quick Call or by calling TG 91 (which I used for testing as it's so busy) and I couldn't understand it, other than the last word was "off."
Right now I'm listening to traffic on 91 on Hoseline, and when I try to key up to connect OpenSpot won't connect at all anymore. I'm also not seeing myself pop up in the Hoseline feed as attempting to connect.
I seem to be able to connect to other talkgroups now... not sure what changed, or what makes 91 or BM Parrot so special that I can't connect.
Previously my local Parrot function acted strangely. It would repeat the first second of a call, drop the signal for a second, and then pick back up until the call ended. It still does that, but now when I try the Brandmeister Parrot it only connects every other transmission. I'll send my test call and get the (garbled) "off" response from OpenSpot that indicates an ended call. Then I'll send another test call and it gets through okay. Another call will result in the garbled response from OpenSpot indicating an ended/failed call, and the call after that will go through. It's very bizarre.
