AP Mode cannot connect
K5IMO
The OpenSpot2 has been operating flawlessly on DMR, DStar and Fusion since receiving it a few months ago. However, when attempting to change modes this evening, the OpenSpot2 failed to reboot. A power cycle did not resolve the issue. From all outward appearances, it lost its connection to the WiFi. I switched to AP mode to reinitialize the device but it cannot get past the 'Welcome' page. The symptom being an inability to detect any WiFi connection. Power cycles do not help. I seem to be dead in the water. Any ideas?

What color is the LED? Have you checked it yet this?

Yes to all of the above. The OpenSpot2 lights show to be in AP mode. One of two things happen when connecting to the OpenSpot2 AP network: (1) the initial screen shows and asks for country but cannot go any further or (2) the WiFi selection display appears and lists the available WiFi network will not allow for entering the password. After some untimed period, the web page times out The Router shows the device to have been previously assigned a slot but inactive. Multiple attempts, including power cycle, produce the same results. Note also that I have two OpenSpot2s and the other has not produced similar results. I can freely change profiles on the second thereby changing between DMR, DStar and Fusion. The second Spot2 came from the second release batch. Each is on a separate frequency, well spaced and with separate suffixes on the DMR Id.

I forgot to answer your first question. The light initially goes to flashing white, then briefly to flashing red and finally to flashing blue (cannot find the router).

Make sure your Openspot placed close to your router therefore gets strong WIFI signal. You can make a factory reset if you pressing and hold down the RESET button for 30 seconds. I hope this helps.

Factory reset to the unit placed within 6" of the router (same as before) produced slightly different results but still no go. The 'Welcome' display will transition to the network select display and the options ultimately appear (sometimes timing out and returning to the Welcome display). However, one of three conditions then result: (1) the 'Connect' button is dead, (2) the password entry display is locked and no entry is possible, or (3) I enter the correct password and the display goes nowhere. I can only assume I have a defective unit. As an aside, my default browser is Google Chrome on Win 10.
