How do I setup the openspot 2 to work on my Samsung galaxy s9.

Do you mean you want to use your phone's shared internet connection to connect the OS2 to the internet?
If yes, the easiest way is to turn on your phone's internet connection sharing, then use another device to set up the OS2 to connect to your phone.

Sorry, no I can't get my openspot 2 to connect to my phone so that I can use it in my vehicle. Works fine with my in home wifi connection.

Turn advanced mode on and go to the Network tab, Wireless settings section. Add your phone's Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password as the 2nd wireless network there. The OS2 will automatically connect to your phone if internet connection sharing is turned on and the home Wi-Fi network (the 1st network) is unreachable.

I have the S8+ and it works fine. Your phone must have the hotspot feature activated by your carrier or else it may not turn on. Also if you can turn on the phones hotspot, it has to be set up to share the internet connection. If not, the OS2 cannot connect to the phone. Only another device hooked up to the USB port would be able to connect, thats more of a tethering situation where you want to connect a PC via USB to the phone and use that as a LTE modem to get onto the internet. When sharing wifi is on, then you can use your radio via RF to OS2 which in turn will use wifi to the S9 which then goes out 4G or whatever system you are on.
