Good evening all,
Couldn't find anything in the search, so ill thy to post a "new guy" question/new topic here specific to a MD380. I just got my OpenSpot2, having previously come from using a DV4mini, this week and for some reason my TYT MD380 refuses to connect to the brandmeister network 3100 or any other TG for that matter. However, It connects just fine to the Dstar REF 1C and 30C but for some reason I just cant get DMR to connect properly.
I used "quick setup", selected DMR, entered my radios frequency, clicked "BrandMeister", server "USA 3101, set to TG3100 and it connects with voice announcements coming across my MD380 saying "open spot connected to brandmeister 3101" and then the status window text message shows 4000 disconnect immediately after the disconnect.
I have the MD380 simplex code plug correct with:
1) Digital contact created - Call type set to "Group call", call ID set to "9" and Call Receive Tone set "Yes".
2) Digital RX group lists created with the Digital contact added to the "Contact Member" side.
3) Channels information - Channel created and RX and TX freq entered in, Channel mode set to "Digital" TOT set to "120", Power set to "Low", Admit criteria set to "Chanel free", and color code "1" default.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Dave

If you've set "Link this TG" in the Quick Setup then the openSPOT2 will automatically start a short group call to ID 4000 to unlink all previous talkgroups and link the desired one for you. The network announces disconnect because of this TG4000 call which means all previously linked talkgroups and reflectors got unlinked. It's normal and does not mean that the openSPOT2 got disconnected.

Yep that now works. I did have to first go into the “connectors” tab and manually enter 3100 into both the “reroute DMR TG9 calls to ID” field and the “route cross mode calls to ID” and set the bubble to “group call” . After that I used the quick setup as you indicated above and entered in 3100. Now it works great! And I was now abole to just use the quick setup to change the TGs unlike before. To it’s sorted itself out now I guess. Thanks for that tip!

If you are using a DMR radio for accessing a DMR network then you are not using cross mode, so the "Route cross mode calls to ID" setting is irrelevant. Also make sure you understand what rerouting is before enabling it (changing "Reroute DMR TG9 calls to ID" setting to other than 0).
