The openSPOT can operate fine with 500 kbps up; although, there are a couple additional things to consider.
What are your pings times like? Ping times can be as important as bandwidth.
Having other devices connected to the internet, or browsing the internet, while the openSPOT is operating will take away from the 500 kbps up. This may impact the ability of the openSPOT to function

just tested values are following
Ping 53ms
Dowload 3.00MBS
UP .51MBS
not a great internet connection

No worries on your internet connection. It's more than enough. Login to the openSPOT2, go to the Network page. Under Network status, what does it show as the "Internet connection quality"? According to the manual this is a measure of your network latency. To see the current bandwidth the openSPOT2 is using expand the Traffic section. You may be surprised how little bandwidth the openSPOT2 consumes. It's not much. Your ping times are about average, not great but not terrible.

I dont undestand this, it works well on Dstar I hear myself fine on 99 echo but yet i still get complaiants the only thing i can relate it to is the internet quality I am house sitting this week everything was fine at my place last week, I have a 75MBS connection at home and very little connected to the network, I am really not sure how much is connected to this network but all i know its rated around 3MBS down and only about .4 or so up, ether i have a bad unit or its gotta be the network
its gotta be the network, in all fairness i have no access to Dstar this week just fusion and DMR both i get complaints

So my suspect was correct, I had a faulty wire with my DSL so its working 100%. One issue and its most likely a radio issue I have the FT1XD a yaesu HT, The open spot does not like the lower power levels I have to use 2.5 watts to have a stable signal both on the FCS network and 99 echo, The open spot is at the other end of the house i hear it fine at 20MW so i am not sure if there is a setting on the openspot i can adjust or if this most likely is an issue was the radio, id rather TX .5 a watt if I can
but like i said other then that small issue all is 100%
