QUICK QUESTION -
Maybe this is a dumb one but as my Elmer Ham once taught me - THE DUMBEST question is the one THAT IS NEVER ASKED [emoji23]
Anyway, my question is this...
With an openSPOT 2 (Or for those wanting to know - ANY Hotspot for that matter), can one MONITOR (Say for example) a D-STAR reflector & expect to hear the traffic on it with a DMR Radio (Or a DMR TG with a D-STAR Radio) EVEN THOUGH you aren't able to talk to anyone on there OR does one need a radio corresponding to the mode you want to monitor JUST TO monitor that mode ??
I hope this is making sense [emoji23]
Cheers & 73 [emoji23]

D-STAR uses a different, older voice codec which has to be transcoded with proprietary AMBE hardware if you want to hear it on DMR radios. The openSPOT2 supports transcoding between DMR, C4FM/Fusion and NXDN networks/radios, but not to/from D-STAR.

Well there goes D-STAR (RATS [emoji34][emoji23])
But I can at least LISTEN to the others though [emoji23]
