Hi All.
I have had my OP2 for several months, and it have always worked as it should. I mainly use it in my car, connected to my iPhone, and sometime from home connected to my Huawei B525S LTE router. Yesterday I bought a mobile LTE router for my car, a Huawei E5885, which is capable of running both 5 and 2.4 Ghz as the B525 also is. But I can't get the OP2 to connect to it. I know OP2 is only 2.4 GHz, and even if I set the E5885 to only running in 2.4 GHz mode and channel 11, it is imposible to connect to it. Other devices, as my laptop and iPad has no problem connect to it, but the OP2 don't. I can see that it is actually connecting, and then disconnecting in an endless loop. I have seen in the past that a lot of people is having wireless trouble with the OP2, and always thought, that they must be doing something wrong. But now I can join these people.

Make sure you enter the password case sensitive. Make sure the router's support for 802.11n is turned on, not just 802.11ac. Try switching the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channel on the router. Also you should try with the latest beta firmware of the openSPOT2 (which will become stable next week).

Hi HA2NON
I have tried all your suggestions with no luck. I'm also running latest beta firmware.
As I wrote the strange thing is, that other devices is fully capable to connect to the router on 2.4 Ghz.
And the other funny thing is, that the OP2 actually connects, and then disconnects, in an endless loop.
I can se it on the Danish DMR Dashboard.

Are you sure the openSPOT2 disconnects from the Wi-Fi network? Open it's web interface and check the log. Also check the LED colors.
OZ9KL
Hi HA2NON.
Yes I'm pretty sure that's what happens. When it disconnects, I got the message from my radio: "Trying to connect WiFi", or something similar. I'm at work right now, so the message is after my memory.
I will later on check the logs and LED.

Hi HA2NON
I have tried to connect to the Huawei E5885 again, and still don't succeed. This time OP2 actually stays connected, but as I see it, it have some problem to resolve adresses. I have also tried to override DNS adresses in the network configuration with the DNS server from Google. Still same error. I can't either connect to the OP2's web interface, when I'm connected to the Huawei, and yes I'm here trying from a laptop also connected to the same WLan. I have tried to connect other devices, which is only capable of running 2.4 GHz, and they are working. The log attached are captured from the Serial console, as I can't take it from the Web interface. I did that, that I initiated a wireless scan, and tried to connect to the Huawei, which SSID is CHotspot2.4. At the end I did a NET, so you can see that I'm actually connected.
Hope you can see something from the attached log file.

Make sure Wi-Fi client isolation is turned off in the router. Log shows no errors except the DNS server is not responding.
OZ9KL
It is turned off.
Please note, that I can't connect to the web interface, even if I try to connect direct to the OP2 IP address 192.168.8.101. This has nothing to do with DNS.

HA2NON
What LED color do you have?
Do you use sharkrf.link?
HB9ESF
I have problem with the same Huawei hotspot. With my Samsung Galaxy S10 in hotspot mode there is no problem, but with the Huawei Hotspot that's never work, the openspot2 is connected to the wifi network, but don't find internet connexion, even if i put google dns on the openspot2.
The other device connected to the huawei hotspot work fine.
When i put the IP of the openspot2, i can't access to it.
The openspot2 always says internet unreachable ??
OZ9KL
Hi HB9ESF.
Thank you for posting this. This is exact the same problem I have. Other devices work on the Huawei router, but OP2 doesn't. On the other hand OP2 works fine when connected to other devices. So is the problem related to OP2 or to the Huawei ?
Att: HA2NON. The led is pulsing blue and yellow. No I don't use sharkrf.link I try to connect direct to the IP address of OP2.

HA2NON
Blue and yellow LED means the openSPOT2 is connected to the Wi-Fi network, and it is trying to connect the selected server:
http://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot2/en/led-states.html#page-top
Make sure UDP packets are not filtered by the router. UDP is also used for DNS resolving. You can also try changing WPA encryption or Wi-Fi channels and see if it helps.
HB9ESF
I have try to change wifi channel, turn off the firewall and to put dmz to the OP2 but nothing works, always "internet unreachable" ?
OZ9KL
I have tried exact the same.
HA2NON I even tried with OP2 on a null connector, and still same colors and problem.
Do you have any clue why we aren't able to connect to the web interface of the OP2 using the IP address.
In this situation no DNS resolving is involved. That is strange.

OZ9KL
Hi Again.
I have tested a little bit more, and found out, that OP2 is only able to connect to this router if it is using no encryption or WEP encryption. I can't still figure out, if it is a problem on the OP2 or on the Huawei.

HB3XRN
always the same thing with the V41.
I tried all the parameters, but impossible to have a connection in WPA/WPA2-PSK or WPA2-PSK.
HA2NON
What LED color do you see on the OS2?
HB3XRN
When I plug in the cable usb
- Announcement: Openspot porfile one ready
- Blue slowly flashes
- flashes alternately blue - orange
- only one alternately blue-red flashing
- Announcement: Openspot internet unreachable
- flashes alternately blue - red
- Announcement: Openspot internet unreachable
- etc ...
HA2NON
Blue and red LED means the OS2 is successfully connected to your router through Wi-Fi, but the internet is not reachable. You can see the LED states in the user manual:
http://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot2/en/led-states.html
http://1.1.1.3/bmi/manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot2/en/gif/internet-error.gif
The LED will show this state if the openSPOT2 is connected to a Wi-Fi network, trying to connect to the selected server, but it can't because there's a problem with the internet connection. This error can be caused if the router, network, or the internet service provider is using a proxy or some kind of traffic filtering which blocks the openSPOT2 from connecting.
HB3XRN
I think the problem comes from Huawei.
But it connects other device that works with internet ...
can be NAT routing?
Another question:
When the Openspot blinks Blue-Red, I can not connect via Sharkfr.link, or via the IP address.
is openspot really connect?
