Have bought 2 openSPOT2's in the past couple of weeks and just getting familiar with D-STAR. Monitoring 30C today and noticed extensive R2D2 and broken reception from stations on the reflector. Also had reports from stations I spoke with that they could hear me fine but their signals to me were extremely broken if not unusable at times. Am trying to troubleshoot the problem.
From earlier contacts I'm very confident that my openSPOT configuration is good and that my D74 radio is operating correctly. I suspect a problem with either the 30C reflector Internet connection or my broadband. Are there tools other than your RSSI, BER and Dejitter Queue that I can use to isolate the problem when it occurs.

Make sure the openSPOT2's TX power is set to 100% on the Modem page.
Do you see invalid seqnum errors on the dejitter queue graph, or packet loss indicated in the call log on the Status page?

Power slider is at max (13dBM). Monitoring 30C today looking at BER and Jitter. Whenever garbled reception starts I see low levels of BER and some invalid seqnum levels. Am curious about how to troubleshoot this. I'm presuming that this could be (1) my Internet connection to 30C, (2) something with 30C itself, or (3) the transmitting station's Internet connection to 30C. Is that correct? Assuming that garbled reception on my end is likely due to #1 or #2, right? I know there's not much I can do about problems with #2 or #3 but is there a way to troubleshoot #1?

REF030C is a widely used server with different stations all around the world. Some of them may access the server with an unstable network connection, or too far away from the server and the long network path can introduce packet loss. You can test your connection using the server's echo on module E.

Was able to check my QTH wifi (AP to openSPOT2) and found the connection was only marginal. Relocated openSPOT2 adjacent to AP and re-checked connection and found it good. I can still hit the openSPOT2 from most anywhere in my house and reception has improved. Apparently, the openSPOT2 wifi antenna is not sensitive enough for operation where it was. Other wifi devices in that area work fine.

Please keep in mind that the openSPOT2 is a small device to be carried around, and it's internal Wi-Fi antenna is much smaller than for example a mobile phone's or a laptop's antenna.
