Yesterday and today my OpenSpot2 reverted to NULL as an Active Connector. I had it on D-Star REF. Both times I was downstairs 106 fee feet down at ground level, just across the street. My JumboSpots and ZumSpots( 3 of them) all hold the connection 12 block away. This is an experiment of course. But I find that the OpenSpot2 does not tolerate the radio or the Wifi being too far away. I am surprised that a JumboSpot out performs it when it comes to distance. Is it because the OpenSpot2 has no external antenna?

The OS2 only switches back to the Null connector if you've set a "Change to Null connector after last call" timeout on the Connectors page, or you've switched to a configuration profile which has the Null connector active (the default active connector is the Null connector for an uninitialized profile), or you call the unlink control command with a D-STAR transceiver.
The openSPOT2 has small internal antennas, as it is designed to be small, compact, and to be carried around.
