Preface ->
This posting only verifies that I am getting highly aberrant behavior using Firefox browser on Android phone while connecting to OS2 web interface . It was written before I tested using Chrome . After testing with Chrome, I see that there is no problem with the OS2 unit . The problem is totally a Firefox issue . I never use Chrome; well only as a last resort ...
This has to do with phone connection via WiFi and / or phone data . When using computer browser on LAN these operations work fine for OS2 and OS1 . In all cases Firefox is used .
Incidentally, OS1 has NO problem adding and removing static talk groups .
OS2 always shows timeout error and occasionally DOES add or remove, but does not update the screen to show the change .
Communicating with the BrandMeister API is entirely done by your browser, not the openSPOT1/2. Probably the BM API server is having issues processing your TG add/remove requests.
Understood .
I am using the same phone - same browser - connecting the same way via port forwarding to the same location ( my home ) on the same router etc .
I am also noticing that while OS2 is connected via my WiFi at home - then using my computer browser ( Firefox ( on LAN ) ) and leaving the connection to
http://192.168.1.2/#status
going . I am seeing the the web page timeout several times in one day . Goes to page unreachable .
Also, remote connection to
http://ipaddress/portnumber
from phone to OS2 often momentarily shows OpenSpot2 disconnected from web interface errors after login before going to the status page .
And, just now while testing the API add / remove static talk groups . I always get timeout error, but sometimes it does the operation ... Just now after getting timeout on phone - I tried refresh page on browser on phone and computer and OS2 went back to login page on phone and computer . When doing the same operation on the LAN connected computer browser, there is no problem with going back to login page after removing TG and refreshing browser page .
I do not experience any of these adverse symptoms on the OS1 while using the same exact hardware and connections .
I just repeated the operation and had the same result . On phone connected to local WiFi . I attempted to add static TG and got timeout error . Then when I tried refresh web page on phone - both the LAN connected browser and the phone browser went back to login page . After logging in I see that the static TG was added .
I am having some aberrant behavior occurring with this OS2 unit . It is happening on differing platforms, hardware and connections . Edit after posting -> ( It is all Firefox problem and not OS2 ! ! ! )
All operations on the same platforms, hardware and connections to OS1 are consistently good and have been for a couple of years now .
Now I just did a test using Chrome ( which I NEVER use ) .
It is working fine with Chrome . Also, refreshing web page after TG add / remove is good .
