I need some help to get AutoCal to work.
I receive good audio coming back from using OS2 local echo service.
But I have never been able to get the AutoCal to work.
I am using Yaesu FT3D, follow instructions for AutoCal to best of my knowledge, set to C4FM half deviation, but the OS2 shows absolutely zero RSSI. Tried various frequency offsets up and down, but zero signal as shown by the RSSI.
(A note on the Modem C4FM settings while in C4FM cross mode to DMR. I use Quick setup and use half deviation, but for some reason the Connector page always end up showing "Normal/full" C4FM . Changing to half deviation on the Connector page result in no receive at the OS2, whys is this?)
I assume the FT3D is using half deviation, right?
Probably just me getting confused, but really would appreciate some help.

The easiest way is to turn off half deviation in the transceiver, and use the plain C4FM modem mode on the openSPOT2, and then you don't have to do the AutoCal.

I have been told the FT3D only uses half deviation and I can't find anything in the settings sugesting it could be changed.
Note that the normal or half deviation settings in the OS" menu is a bit confusing, at least for me
.
I just now tried this. Quick setup using half deviation then check the Modem page and it says "C4FM", it is not showing "C4FM Half Deviation"
Trying the OS2 local echo service after having used the Quick Setup choosing half deviation, gives me nice audio from the echo service, even though the MODEN page says Normal deviation ("C4FM"),
Then changing to half deviation on the Modem Page and saving that, I get no audio report back.
So if the FT3D is only using half deviation, then it appears that the Modem Page is showing normal, when in fact it is half deviation and showing half deviation, when it is normal?? or?
I am new to this so I hope I am not wasting your time!
EDIT! : seems like I had the wrong info or misunderstood. It appears that the FT3D only uses "Normal" deviation - and I now understand that AutoCal is only used with half deviation. That would explain quite a bit for me.
Still remains the mystery that setting either Normal or half deviation using "Quick setup" seems not to be reflected in the Modem page"?

I've just tested this and could not reproduce the issue. Can you please write each step you take to reproduce it?

Hi,
Going through this again and it looks like maybe it is only when going to an YSFRefelctor (have not tried all variations) using "Quick setup" ;
-select "C4FM" - select "Normal" - select "YSFReflector" then "Connect".
The "Modem settings" are now showing "C4FM Half Deviation".

Issue will be fixed in the next beta firmware release, thanks for reporting!
