When trying to connect my Open Spot 2 to my WiFi, I can get to the initialization page, select my country of operation, then select my home WiFi network and type in the password. The OpenSpot 2 will then pulse blue for a while then I get a dialog box that says “Authentication Required Log in to page 192.168.99.1” and requests a login ID and password. What login ID and password is this referring to?

If the LED is blue, then the OS2 stops broadcasting it's own Wi-Fi network called "openSPOT2 AP", so your browser device (phone/tablet/computer) disconnects. Your browser detects this disconnection automatically and reloads the page, and your network has a host with the IP address 192.168.99.1, but this host requires authentication. I think this may be your internet service provider's modem's IP address, or something like that.
Just ignore it and use sharkrf.link once the OS2 has been connected to the configured Wi-Fi network.

Tried ignoring the login message several time but the OS2 LED never turned green/yellow - just stayed blue the whole time and I kept getting the “device information not found” message on sharkrf.link

I did try connecting both the OS2 and my laptop to my iPhone as a personal hotspot and was able to get the OS2 to connect (LED turned green/yellow) but never could get past the “device information not found” message on sharkrf.link, even after waiting several minutes and trying again

What do you see in the device log? (turn on Advanced mode at the bottom right of the screen to see the Device Log on the Status page)
The log will give you a hint on why it can't upload it's IP address to the sharkrf.link service.

Update: got it working somehow. I was finally able to connect using my iPhone as a hotspot then manually put in the network info for my home WiFi on the sharkrf.link page and connected to my home network that way.
