After ordering the OpenSpot3, I have been reading the manual and trying to prepare my code plug. I found this following in the manual:
---------------------------------------------------------------
"You can change servers using a DMR radio with a private call to a special 5 digit long DMR ID which has the following format: server type+number+module.
Server types:
1: REF
2: XRF
3: XLX
4: DCS
Number is the server number. For example, server type 4 and number 01 means DCS001.
Module is the remote module. 00 is module A, 01 is module B, 02 is module C and so on.
The number and module are always 2 digits. Example: starting a private call to ID 10102 will connect to REF001C (server type 1 (REF), number 01 and module 02 which is C)."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It would seem from this information that you can only connect to reflectors 1-99 on DCS, XRF and XLX. However, the reflector numbers go all the way up to 999.
Is this an error in the manual, or an actual limitation of the the OpenSpot3?

This is how classic D-STAR DTMF server change works. We'll extend it to 3 digit server numbers.
ryanfu
Once extended, will it become a 6 digit code with 3 digits for all reflectors?
ex. 100103 for REF001C
HA2NON
It will handle multiple ID lengths.

Thanks very much, good to know.

hmmm….
1001
03
would bring you to REF001

Forgive my inaccuracy. Managing D-Star reflectors, it is simply burned into my brain that Mod A is 1, Mod B is 2, and so forth.

"40102" to connect to DCS001C just returned this message:
"openSPOT requested server not found"
Is this function not available in current version (V4)?

Using v5: I've set the connector to REF/XRF with DMR modem mode, then started a private call to 40102 and it worked correctly. I did not test firmware v4 however.

OK, thanks. I´ll try after update to V5.
BlueSky
Update to V5 ....and it works perfect!
