The only success I've had with SMS using my Anytone D878UV has been sending a SMS message to myself using the OS2 web interface. I've been unsuccessful in sending messages to anyone else through the web interface (to stations I know are on the network). I've tried all formats. Ideally, I'd like to send SMS messages from the radio, not the web interface. There seem to be a lot of moving parts in sending/receiving SMS. I've configured the radio for "Motorola" format and also set up my Brandmeister profile that way.

If you are using the web interface to send/receive messages, then make sure "Handle messages to/from source ID" is enabled, and the source ID is set to your valid DMR ID (without any SSIDs). Also you have to choose the correct type of the receiving radio. If the receiving radio is a Hytera, use ETSI, it it's a Motorola, then use UDP, if it's a Chinese radio, like the Anytone, use UDP/Chinese.
If you want to send and receive messages using your transceiver, then make sure "Handle messages to/from source ID" is disabled. Make sure you've ran DMR AutoCal, or manually adjust the RX offset on the Modem page to find the lowest BER for your transceiver.
