If you only want to use a phone (no home Wi-Fi network) to configure the openSPOT2/3, then do the following:
- If the status LED is not white, then switch the openSPOT2/3 to access point mode by pressing the (Wi-Fi) button for 3 seconds.
- The openSPOT2/3 will start broadcasting it's own Wi-Fi network called "openSPOT3 AP" (or openSPOT2 AP), indicated by white LED. You can connect to this network using your browser phone. Make sure you place your phoner close to the openSPOT2/3 during this time. The initialization setup will pop up, where you can select the country of operation and on the next page, click on the Manual connect button to configure the Wi-Fi network for the openSPOT2/3 to connect to.
- Make sure you've entered the Wi-Fi SSID and password case sensitive.
- After you've chosen the Wi-Fi network and entered the password, the openSPOT2/3 stops broadcasting it's own Wi-Fi network and starts connecting to the selected network. At that moment, your phone will disconnect from the openSPOT3's network. What you have to do now is to enable the Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone (if it's not enabled).
If the openSPOT2/3 is connecting, the LED is flashing blue, and it will be green or green/yellow (if the Null connector is active) when it's connected to the phone's Wi-Fi network.
Please only use sharkrf.link to open the web interface. Android phones do not support MDNS name resolution, so
http://openspot3.local
(or
http://openspot2.local
) will not work.
You can also enter the IP address of the openSPOT2/3 in the browser to open the web interface. You can get the IP address assigned to the openSPOT2/3 on the Wi-Fi hotspot settings page on your phone.
