Switching reflectors/gateways using the radio

Hello, in the manual I found this option to do cross mode from the radio with URCALL/your call method as copied below.

Not all modes get connected though.

I tried:
YSF : YS32592 works
REF : REF032AL works
FCS : FCS20660 works
BM : BM2600 "open spot requested server not found"
BM : BM310 "open spot requested server not found"
BM: BM3142 "open spot requested server not found"

When I choose Brandmeister from the Open Spot control panel it connects to all the servers, but it doesn't connect from the radio.

I am on the latest beta firmware.
I do not think that I am doining anything wrong, I hope that it's the firmware.

Switching reflectors/gateways using your radio
URCALL/your call method
You can switch reflectors using your radio by starting a short call to their names as the destination callsign (URCALL), like DCS001 A, or XLX001 A. Set the desired remote module as the last character of the URCALL. You can switch to gateways the same way.

The URCALL/your call method lets youe change to the following server types:

REF/XRX/Gateway: set the URCALL to for example REF001 C. Switching to REF/XRF servers or gateways this way changes the openSPOT3's active connector to the REF/XRF connector.
DCS/XLX: set the URCALL to for example DCS001 A. Switching to DCS/XLX servers this way changes the openSPOT3's active connector to the DCS/XLX connector.
BrandMeister: set the URCALL to BM followed by the BrandMeister server ID. Example: starting a call to destination callsign (URCALL) BM2162 switches to BrandMeister server 2162 (Hungary). Switching to BrandMeister servers this way changes the openSPOT3's active connector to the Homebrew/MMDVM connector.
FCS: set the URCALL to the FCS server and room number. Example: starting a call to destination callsign (URCALL) FCS00199 switches to FCS001 room 99. Switching to FCS servers this way changes the openSPOT3's active connector to the FCS connector.
YSFReflector: set the URCALL to YS followed by the YSFReflector server ID. Example: starting a call to destination callsign (URCALL) YS89804 switches to YSFReflector 89804 (AmericaLink). Switching to YSFReflector servers this way changes the openSPOT3's active connector to the YSFReflector connector.
NXDNReflector: set the URCALL to NX followed by the NXDNReflector server ID. Example: starting a call to destination callsign (URCALL) NX28299 switches to NXDNReflector 28299 (America-Ragchew). Switching to NXDNReflector servers this way changes the openSPOT3's active connector to the NXDNReflector connector.

There are no BrandMeister server with IDs 2600, 310 and 3142. Please use valid BM server IDs.

Hi, you are right. I just realized tat I wanted to connect to talk groups. The server doesn't really matter.
Can I connect to the talk group from the radio?

Yes, you need to start a call to the TG you want to talk on. This will cause the server link the TG for you (TG linking is managed by the server, not the OS3).

I had to try it to understand.
In my radio I first do URCALL to : BM3101 and after it connects I do URCALL to group : 26018

it seems to work but I end up with a list of groups in my panel like in the screen shot.
I am hoping I didn't link them all together. The question is which TG is active when more than one shows in the "linked dynamic TG's"

I think that before connecting another group I have to unlink it by doing URCALL to : 4000
this however disconnects the server as well.
Is there a way to just disconnect a gropu not the server, or make the previous grops disconnect as soon as I call a new group just like it is done in the control panel with "quick setup" ?

All of the TGs are linked which are displayed at the dynamic TG list. You can read more about talkgroup linking here: http://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot3/en/dmr-usage-notes.html#page-top

It's advised to make a group call to ID 4000 so the server will unlink all previously linked dynamic TGs.

There's a setting of the Homebrew/MMDVM connector called "Unlink TG/ref. on cross mode DTMF call" which auto calls 4000 if you call a TG using DTMF codes.

Thank you for all your help. It turns out that the server stays connected after I call 4000 so I can just choose a new TG. My radio Kenwood TH-D74 doesn't allow me to enter any DTMF codes in URCALL, so I cannot use this feature. So far I can live with what I have. I can preprogram favorite TG's, reflectors amd servers in the radio's memory and call them up from the menu without opening OpenSpot app.

You don't need to enter DTMF codes in the URCALL. DTMF codes are audible tones during a call. I'm sure your radio supports sending DTMF tones.

You can also use the URCALL method to talk/switch TGs.

Yes I understand that I can do that, that's what I was using - URCALL from radio memory, but when switching TG's the previous TG was still linked like int screenshot attached, So I do URCALL 4000 between switching and it works.

Ok. Note tha switching using DTMF codes are easier as in this case the OS3 automatically calls TG4000 before a switch.
