Hi all,
After some hickup, I cannot make a connection no more with my OS2 and my phone (Samsung S20+ 5g running Android 11). It seems, that (after reinstalling the SharkRF link) it does not get passed the initial screen, it keeps on starting or resetting/disconnecting. On my PC (Windows 11), however (after reinstalling the SharkRF link) it works just as it should. I tried emptying the cache of the app, tried cleaning the browser cache and even tried emptying the Dalvik cache. It just keeps on disconnecting. It all happens so fast, but the error message seems to be 'openSPOT2 web interface disconnected'. Help would be greatly appreciated because I use the OS2 a lot with my mobile, or at least used to.

What status LED color do you see on the OS2?

Just normal (green). Remember, I can connect with my PC as usual.

Here's a quick tip on setting up the OS2 both for home and phone Wi-Fi connections:
Go to the Network page, Wireless settings section on the OS2 web interface. Make sure Advanced mode is turned on (there's a checkbox for that at the bottom right of the web interface). Set your home Wi-Fi as SSID #1 (and key) and your phone's Wi-Fi as SSID #2 (and key). If your home Wi-Fi (SSID #1) is not reachable then the openSPOT2 will automatically try to connect to your phone's Wi-Fi (SSID #2).
Make sure you enter passwords case sensitive.
Also make sure 2.4GHz Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled on the phone, not just 5GHz.

Yes, that is true. However, that is not the case here. I have only one WiFi network (SSID) configured. After a 'glitch' (after all it is a wireless network, and this happens maybe once a year) I was forced to reinstall a backup of the OS2, because it was no longer responsive. The OS2 is now accessible via my PC, after I re-installed the SharkRF link (I'm not sure if that was necessary) but NOT via my mobile phone (after I re-installed the SharkRF link). I then tried to wipe the cache (browser, SharkRF link and Dalvik) but no success. Needless to say, that the OS2 is the only thing that does not work on my phone (but it works on my PC). It keeps on disconnecting/resetting (on my mobile). What am I missing here?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that my whole network runs on 2.4 GHz.

Please explain what do you mean by it is disconnecting/resetting on your phone. What status LED colors do you see when this happens (when you only use the phone's Wi-Fi hotspot)?

First of all: I do not use the phone's WiFi hotspot. I use the phone as a normal WiFi 'client', i.e. the phone is connected to the Internet via WiFi. That works fine, as it should. The problem is that when I make a connection with my OS2 (obviously through WiFi), the phone gets stuck in some sort of loop, of trying to connect to the OS2 and resetting. The LED keeps on burning green (i.e. the heart beat). So it seems, that 'nothing is the matter', but I just can't get out of that loop. On the other hand, if I try the same thing with my PC (make a connection etc.) every thing is fine, as it should. It almost seems that the connection with the OS2 is refused, or that the SharkRF link (on the phone) isn't working properly. Before the mishap, I could use the SharkRF link on both the phone and the PC, as you would expect. So obviously I made some sort of error, only what is it? I tried the various 'wiping of the caches', which usually does the trick, but this time it doesn't work.

Ok now I understand what you mean. Try entering the openSPOT2's IP address into the phone's browser.

Still the same. It starts off OK (openSPOT.2 base page), then is says 'loading' (OS2 base page), then it shows the status page (briefly), then it says 'loading' (OS2 base page, status page is gone) again. That describes basically the loop I'm in. The OS2 LED is the 'green' heart beat.

I thought as much... After an update (tonight) of the Samsung Internet browser the error seems to have recovered itself and everything seems normal now. Luckily it lasted not too long.
