Cannot AutoCal with AnyTone D878UVII

On Connectors page
1 - select AutoCal connector
2 - click Switch to selected
3 - ensure RX/TX frequencies are 438.1625 MHz
3 - transmit with AnyTone HT on 438.1625 MHz on TG 9
4 - observe Phase 1/3, Status: Idle, Progress: empty no progress
LEDs on OpenSpot 4 are just alternating green and red.

I can RX TG on my AnyTone via static TGs but nobody including the Parrot hears me.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hi Thomas, did you set your color code to 1 on your HT ?

I believe the following is correct but please let me know. After clicking save on the AutoCal panel. I hold the PTT on my radio which is set to talk group 9 for minutes and the progress bar never changes. I'm not sure why it states "AutoCal not active", so I wonder what I'm doing wrong... Also I confirmed with a separate radio that when I press the PTT the radio is transmitting on the frequency entered in the AutoCal panel. I'm running firmware version v24 on the openSPOT4 Pro.

I got a bit further. I clicked "Save" in the General settings panel and now I do get the progress bar advancing but it does it over and over with status of "Searching for a transmission..."
So it seems like since this was a new openSpot that maybe you need to click save the first time in General settings to get some data initialized but I'm just guessing on that. (BTW... I am a software developer)
I have set the highest power setting on my radio but the openSpot still doesn't hear it.
How many minutes should I need to PTT the radio to be able to perform calibration?

Thanks I am now able to get it into the searching for transmission stage but no response to my transmissions.
I also confirmed that I can have a QSO via a local DMR repeater but the openSpot doesn't hear any transmissions from the radio. Via openSpot I can't get into any talk groups so this is the reason I thought AutoCal was necessary but don't know why I can get into a local repeater but not the openSpot.

I think your radio is not programmed correctly.

Hmmmm.....please set DMR mode to simplex only! Maybe it helps.

DMO/simplex
Repeater
DCDM/Double Slot
DCDM TS split

ThomasEKenny Well, in this case, the DMO/simplex setting is good for hotspot setup. I have three option for DMR modes setup. Have you tried Openspot 4 with another radio? Are you sure the color code setup is same both of Openspot and radio?

HA5OGR Yes color code is 1 in both the modem and radio. I only have this one DMR radio. I've just requested to join the AnyTone groups.io group to see if anybody can help me there. Thanks for trying to help.

Yes, two 578's and an 878.
All radios configured to use with OS4 Pro and PiStar
All set up using "Repeater Mode"

As far as repeating the Auto Cal process over and over...I've addressed the issue in a thread right below this thread.

The process really needs to be changed to perform the process only ONCE and then respond with "FINISHED".
If someone wants to re-do the Auto Cal process again that should be an option but it should not continue to repeat the process every ten seconds.

EdEdward thanks for the reply. Since it just loops on phase 1 are you saying that it completes phase 2 and 3 but just doesn't indicate such? I just wonder since the frequency offset remains at 0 Hz which seems hard to believe :-)

How I have done it.
Hit "SAVE" first.
Run program.
Before it times out after ten seconds and re-starts you need to immediately change the conector back to Homebrew and hope it doesn't lock up the Open Spot....ask me how I know.
The other option is to manually change the Offset in Modem / Frequency and then save.
Try 300hz, 400hz etc, until you find the offset that sounds best / performs best for you.
Mine are set to 400hz.

OK trying to set the frequency offset I find that between 350 to 500 Hz that I get a message that doesn't appear otherwise which is "Warning: color code mismatch in received stream from modem, or AutoCal is needed"

I confirmed that CC 1 is set on the modem and the radio's code plug.

Bottom line... since going higher I was able to finally see "Modem Receiving" I finally got the parrot to work when I've set the modem's RX frequency 2 kHz higher.

I then ran AutoCal so that I could fine tune and it stated -200 Hz so of course the modem RX freq needs to be 1.8 kHz higher than it should be. I need to now figure out the best way to compensate for this...

Thank you everybody for your ideas and suggestions. It helped me troubleshoot what I suspect maybe an unusual situation of the Anyone's transmit frequency being way off what it should be.
