I want to be clear, It was not the PTT button, but the little button with circle left to PTT that I pressed when it did crash on first time, on second time after opening the app again, I pressed it again and then got the OS permission pop up. I did not attempted to press PTT at that time.
About IP, thank you for clearing it up about Fallback IP. That was not clear at first, but that is also what I suggested in my first post 🙂 So we are on the same page.
Every OS4 instance has local IP and optional fallback IP
About switching rooms… I want to be clear, that I am not suggesting building entire UI in app.
But switching between web browser and app is kind of weird…. Going along your thought, why not stay in the web browser and have it all (except PTT) or maybe add PTT there?
My point is that having access from WAN, we can have OS4 device at home and we can have access to it from work.
So after adding fallback IP, I connected my phone to OS4 over 5G to fallback in using the app. After connecting, I did click on top label “openspot4” the the very top. That did open a safari page but trying to connect to local ip, not the fallback ip port 80. I was trying to test the web interface access to change room. Still I think, having option just for switching rooms in app direct would be GREAT.
Looks like switching between safari and OS4 app, causes auto reconnection every time you come back to OS4, even after very few sec. Reconnection takes about 5 sec every time
EDIT: Just today I noticed this.
I started the app on iPhone, did clicked that connect button (round circle) and the app crashed. So I was asked before about microphone and accepted it. So that should be persistent at OS security. So I think there is some other bug causing crash on connect. I got this total about 3 times in couple of days I tested. Next I restarted the app after crash and connected fine. Now I did not explicitly disconnected. After about an 30 min I did did started the app again and this time the PTT was blue, so the app auto reconnected so it seems since I did not have to press the connect button next to PTT.
Also, will there be an option to run it in the background, it looks like you can only use it when app is running and connected as long as the iPhone screen does not lockup. Which I have set as 1 min timeout. It would be very nice at some point to have it running in background even when iPhone locks. But maybe in future 🙂
Should I switch to email for such discussions in future ?🙂
