Hi there,
I purchased an openSPOT 4 Pro from SharkRF a few months back, though I haven't had time to use it that much yet so I'm still learning. It shipped with and is still running the latest stable firmware (v33). While it operates fine most of the time, I have noted that whenever I switch profiles, the web interface/dashboard times out and doesn't come back, despite refreshing a few times. Though according to the slowly blinking green light, it should be active.
Normal functionality eventually returns if I wait long enough and refresh again. Typically within 5 minutes or so. However, I have gotten into the habit of power cycling the hotspot whenever I change profiles to avoid the delay as that brings the web interface back immediately. In fact, these days I typically avoid using profiles at all since it is so inconvenient. I just make my changes via Quick Setup or change the connector settings directly.
Before the obvious questions come up... Yes, I have tried clearing the cache and all that, but that has had no impact. I have even tried using a different browser. After some trial and error, I discovered that while this is going on, I cannot ping the hotspot either. Though this seems weird to me since it appears to be connected to the server selected in my profile according to the status light (slowly blinking green). If I wait long enough for it to reconnect on its own, or I power cycle the hotspot, then pings go through and the web interface works again as before.
This is my first openSPOT hotspot, but I am assuming this is not normal behavior. I did a quick search on the forum and didn't see any recent discussions about this, so it might just be my device. Luckily, I don't rely on the profile functionality so I can get away without using them at all, but it would be nice to be able to.
This doesn't seem like a configuration issue, but please let me know if there is something I should do differently to remedy this behavior.
Thanks!
