Most companies don't publicly talk about future product plans, at least not until they're 100% sure what the product is going to be, that it will work as expected, that the documentation is ready to go, and (in the case of physical products) that they have the production capacity in place to satisfy the demand once the announcement is made.
Remember that SharkRF is a two-man company. I would be very surprised if they're NOT working on one or two future products, but none of them are "ready enough" to talk about publicly yet. When they're ready to announce something, they will. Until then, it doesn't do anybody any good to keep asking the same questions over and over again, or to insinuate that they were lying when they change from saying "nothing to announce" to saying "here's the M1KE".
FWIW I work for a company which makes both software and hardware products. I've had to deal with every bit of this myself, including customers who find out where I work and try to trick me into talking about products which haven't been announced yet. In my experience, calling it "irritating" is only scratching the surface.
With all that said ... Personally, I wish they were able to continue to provide software upgrades for the older products (the OSP1 in particular). Some of the features in the newer hardware would be really nice in the OSP1, particularly the ability to send logs to a syslog server. BUT, as a software developer I know that there's a limit to how much effort you can continue to make toward older products, especially when it's just one or two people.
Plus I'm sure Norbert wants to spend some time talking on the radio, just like we all do. 😁
