Can't Connect

Solid white lite when I turn it on, Then blinks. Press the Wi-Fi button try to connect to Open Shot 4 AP, Get message: Device information not found in the database. What am I doing wrong?

What are you trying to connect with?

The white flashing LED means that the internal AP is active, you need to connect to the IP address 192.168.99.1 with a supported browser on a phone or computer.

The device information not being found is because the openSPOT4 cannot see the internet until it is connected to another WiFi network which has internet access.

I turned on the Openspot4. The OpenSpot white lite came on. I pressed the wi-fi button and the white blinked and came on steady. Then I checked my internet listing and saw openSPOT4 site was listed (with a note: action needed. no internet) Open browser and connect. When I try to connect to the browser, my browser connects to my home page in the browser. I tried entering the 198,168.99.1 in the search line but nothing happened. The connection timed out and My home page saved there stayed on the monitor, I am using a Windows 11 HP LAPTOP and Mozilla Thunderbird as my browser. My goal is to use this unit with my Anytone 878 handheld. Hope this helps

I don't think you need to press the WiFi button, pretty sure that the openSPOT4 automatically sets up its own AP on initial power up. I wonder if you pressing the button causes it to do something else.

When you say browser, did you mean Firefox?

Yes Mozilla Firefox. I don't know what I did but the openSpot4 now seem to be working! Thanks for your help. Just dumb luck I guess
