OpenSpot 3 vs OpenSpot 4

I'm sure this has been brought up before but what is the difference between the Openpsot 3 and the Openspot 4 pro?

Here's what I think from what I've read, they both do hardware transcoding so the hardest transcoding as I understand it is using any of the mode radio on D-Star and the 3 and 4 pro both do it. I've heard the transcoding on the 4 sounds better according to what I read.

The 3 has 5 profiles and the 4 pro does 10.

The WiFi on the 3 is separate with a small coax to the antenna and on the 4 pro the WiFi is now on the chip. Wonder if the WiFi on the 3 has greater range since the antenna is separate?

Battery life is twice as long.

The CPU is just about twice as fast so the firmware and all the functions operate much faster.

Considering the similarities between the 3 and the 4 pro the 4 pro was created because of the supply constraints without the parts for the 3 being no longer available.

Am I missing anything as I'm look at the sale price on the 4 and trying to justify getting it 😉

I took the plunge and picked up the OS4. OMG! What a difference in speed! You can actually see the completion bar move. It's like going from dial up to fiber. In the day when I had dial up I use to put a piece of tape on the screen for a reference to see if the computer was frozen or it was still downloading. It's also much snappier when I click on a menu item it actually responds as soon as I unclick the mouse. Amazing!!!!

Just so everyone knows I'm coming from the previous Openspot 3 for a reference in comparison.

Seeing is believing an as an owner of the Openspot 1 and 3 this is worth the price and it's now on sale. So what are you waiting for?
