I wanted to pass along my respect and admiration to the openSPOT Pro development team for an excellent product. I'm a software engineer by trade, specializing in low-level software such as device drivers and operating systems. I've worked on a lot of embedded software products (think medical and military devices, for example).
I am extremely impressed with the functionality and quality of the openSPOT4 Pro. Real time audio streaming and transcoding are hard to do cost-effectively and without tons of audio glitches... and you've managed to accomplish both of those things splendidly.
So: Bravo. And thank you for a device that's a pleasure to use and is giving me lots of joy.
My only nit: I really wish for a hard-wired connection option for the openSPOT4 pro. I'd be willing to pay considerably more to get it. I wouldn't eliminate the WiFi, just add the option for a hard-wired connection. WiFi can be so unpredictable, in my experience, you can't beat hard-wired for a solid connection. Maybe an enhancement or an option for the next version? A boy can dream...
