OS4 Pro Continuous Use

Can the OS4 Pro be used continuously (7 days a week X 24 hours a day)? I currently have an OS2 which works well in this situation because it is plugged into USB power and has no battery. How do you use a OS4 Pro in this same manner? Or is the OS-4 better used as a device you use for 3-5 hours and then turn off & perhaps recharge?

BruceInLagunaWoods I run my OS4 24/7 plugged into USB to monitory the reflector I manage. The battery charger goes into trickle charge. Had mine for over a year and works fine. When I first got it, the battery never lasted more than 4.5 hours anyways, and when I travel, and I run on batteries, it so far, remains at about 4.5 hours.

I would not worry too much about it. If you need it on 24/7, then use it that way. I'm looking at mine right now, and the charging light is off, plugged into a charger and it comes on when it transmits to keep the battery at capacity. Eventually, the battery will fail, but that will be a few years down the road.

Thanks for sharing your experience Perry. It seems like it would be awesome if there was a way to turn off battery charging and just power directly from a USB. Then turn on the battery when you actually need to use it without a power source so you aren't constantly charging/discharging the unit. I've used my OpenSpot2 for years (of course it doesn't have a battery) and it kind of sounds like maybe that is what I should just stick with. I wonder if SharkRF has any comments on this.

You can use the device plugged in 24/7, it won't damage the battery.
