Bruce, what you want to do is not possible unless you have an openSPOT3 or the openSPOT4 Pro.
The reason is that the codecs used by DSTAR and C4FM are different, that means the openSPOT has to transcode the audio and to do that it requires an AMBE transcoding chip internally. The openSPOT2 does not have this chip fitted.
