SharkRF server?

Greetings:
I'm absolutely thrilled with the capabilities and performance of my Open Spot 4 Pro, and I sing its praises to other amateur radio operators at every opportunity.

I'm not a computer expert, so please forgive my technical naivete, but I have a question about the extent to which the Open Spot 4 Pro hotspot is or is not dependent on a remote server to perform its amazing array of features. How does the circuitry and hardware contained in the hotpot accomplish all its tasks independent of a a computer interface such as Pi-Star?

I hope this question makes sense, and thanks in advance for helping me understand how, exactly, that little hotspot works.

You can use your openSPOT4 even without access to the internet, it will work the same way except that it will not be able to resolve callsigns to DMR/NXDN IDs (this does not really affect device operations). The openSPOT4 is using fully embedded software, running on a custom-tailored embedded real time operating system which ensures quick bootup and fast operation.
