DPRS to aprs.fi

Using beta 74 now beta 75, APRS data does not seem to be passing through to APRS.Fi? Icom radios are working with WPSD but not with the 4pro. Status page is showing APRS connection is green.

We've fixed the APRS issue in v75.

It is sort of fixed... The SSID is -8 but shows up as -7 and only when using NMEA. It does not go through with D-PRS.

We've only changed the APRS device ID which the openSPOT4 uses to report positions to the APRS network. SSID and other internals have not been changed. Please see this user manual page on how to setup your transceiver for APRS: https://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot4/en/d-star-aprs.html

Thanks for the quick replies! I did follow the manual page but was hoping the the D-PRS part would pass through as it does on the raspberries. I'll just toggle between D-PRS and NMEA when using the OS4p for now. Thanks again.

I’m getting this message: “couldn't connect with GeoIP." This is under APRS green button Fill with GeoIP. How do I fix this? I have the OpenSpot4 (Not pro).

The other APRS function works fine. I just like to hike and want the OpenSpot APRS to track me. Is that possible?

Upgrade to the latest beta firmware v75 which has a fix for the GeoIP functionality.

So I upgraded, and the GeoIp placed me in Jacksonville Florida. However I’m near Pensacola. A little off.

This is normal. The GeoIP service gives a rough estimate location and may be very inaccurate for some IP address ranges.
