Hi Digital Voice
You are absolutely correct! My US buddy has a network radio that provides him with more value than a M1ke. You could put in a SIM card, Bluetooth (as you stated), great battery life, much less expensive (as you mentioned), color display, robust construction, ability to make it custom and other pluses. I have used the dvswitch on a raspberry pi server hooked up to Western Digital dongle in Colombia. My Scottish buddy used my server with his phone or an android tablet for over a year without any issues. Heck, I never shut it off. As far as the M1ke, I hang it up with my keys and when I am portable or mobile, I bring it with me. I charge it once a week or after 18 hours of use. At home I use the Kenwood 75 with a UHF DVAP and a Openspot 4 pro. If you ask me to choose between the M1ke vs the Kenwood 75 with DVAP and 4 pro. I would choose .... the M1ke. Just for the convenience of having less: less batteries, less a hot spot, less of a bulkier radio, less money .... MORE VALUE.
