I have been using the M1KE for about one week and these are my observations. It works very well on DSTAR/YSF/and DMR. Have not tried any other modes. Very easy to use and the web interface makes it even easier. Battery life is exceptional. Very happy that I purchased the unit.
I have found three items that did not work as described in my installation.
- Setting up iPhone wireless hotspot.
Using the Save button on the Wireless scan list to save to slot 2 did not work. Pressing the Save button did not save anything to slot 2, no SSID or password. Entering the SSID and password manually into slot 2 and saving worked just fine. I am using an iPhone 15 Pro MAX.
- BrandMeister Manager
On a large screen where the BrandMeister manager button is on the right side of the screen the manager functions just fine. On smaller screens like the iPhone and iPad where the BrandMeister Manager is opened from the tools menu the API key check and the Drop current call buttons work fine. The Static and Dynamic Talkgroups windows show the word “loading” instead of a drop down list of Talkgroups. I am using the M4 iPad Pro and the A17 iPad mini. Latest hardware released this year.
3 Call Audio
Call audio using the web interface on my desktop computer works fine most of the time. Sometimes I have to relaunch the browser and sometimes the audio is very slow. Most of the time it works well. I am using an Apple Studio M1.
Using the web interface on the iPhone or iPad does not play audio through the speaker, but will play audio through AirPods Pro using Bluetooth.
I have owned every version of the Openspot and believe it is the best product in it class.
Thanks for the M1KE.
