YSF and Wires X

Does the M1ke work on the Wires X system, I hear some header information does not get through the Wires X system? How does this work for the fusion rooms? I am not sure I fully understand the Wires x and YSF workings. Thanks

I think there was or may still be an issue with YSF to Yaesu-Fusion/Wires-X Crossmode.
I was having issues with YSF side and was told to use another mode such as FCS or XRF to make things stable cross-over.
This issue with YSF-Crossmode may have been solved by now I have no idea.
Never was an issue till recently. So I imagine things are being programmed...
Also USE-Digital Narrow on most repeater linked systems. DN not vw....

Directly connecting to Yaesu's proprietary Wires-X network is not supported, however, there are several FCS, YSFReflector and BrandMeister Network rooms/talkgroups which are linked to Wires-X rooms, so you can connect to them to reach the Wires-X network.

Me again with another newbie question.

I belong to a ham radio club that is about 50 miles away and their repeaters are not reachable from my home. One of the repeaters is a Yeasu which has a Wires-X node and room attached to it. The Node is KARS-RPT and the node number is 93681. The Room is KARS-Room #03681.

As I understand it, I am unable to connect directly to this with my M1KE but perhaps may be able to connect to an FCS, YSRReflector or BM Network room/Talk Group which is linked to Wires-X rooms and then connect via that route to the room/node I'd like to connect to.

I do not own a Yeasu radio and am not proficient with any of their digital systems so have no clue how to locate and connect to one of these intermediate sites and then once connected how to link from there to the KARS room. I have successfully connected to a FCS reflector with my M1KE but have no knowledge of where it is located and whether or not it is one that I can use to link out to KARS.

Is there a way for me to connect to the desired room/node and if so could someone offer some guidance as to how to go about doing so? I love learning new things so if someone could spin me around and point me in the right direction I would very much appreciate it.

There is a known issue with the Shark RF M1KE when connecting to the Wires-X network, Kansas City Wide room, using the YSF Reflector 32453 (US-KCWIDE). The transmissions do not always cross the bridges to the other modes, complaints of one sided conversations. The work around is to connect using XLX458 (YSF28054).

I would really enjoy being able to connect my M1KE to the aforementioned Room and would like to know if this is even possible. If it means connecting to a hub and then connecting from that hub to the room or some other work around I'd appreciate knowing more details such as which hub should I connect to and how do I then link to the room or the clubs hub, etc.

Any suggestions / thoughts?

I think the question you need to ask is if a bridge exists between the WiresX room / repeater and another network. Your best bet is to find the repeater keeper or whoever has setup the original connection as they will know if a bridge exists outside of the WiresX network to allow you access. You mentioned your Radio club in an earlier post, I feel sure this is a good place to start and find how other members/users are connecting. Hope this helps, best 73 David 2E0DCE

Thank you for your response David. To be totally honest I'm not sure why this club even has a Wires-X room set up. The club has about 50 members and I think I'm the only one who doesn't live within range of the Fusion repeater. I asked several club members and they all said they just communicate via the repeater.

I did find one club member who has an rPi hotspot connected to America-Link and he says he can reach the KARS-Room via America Link. I went to the America Link website and it says it is YCS312. I have no clue how to connect to anything that is YCS. I did manage to connect to FCS312 which is supposed to be a US-LINK. I just overheard a conversation and the speaker said this was America-Link so I think I'm in the right place. And what I'm seeing on the website would confirm that.

But I have no clue how to get from there to room #03681 from here.

Hi Dale, if the clubs room #03681 is connected to America link you wouldn’t need to make further connections as you will be able to hear and work all traffic transmitted from that source. It may also have a link via AllStar or Dmr etc in which case you could connect the M1ke to that and achieve the same result.

Perhaps an email to the repeater keeper or your club asking for further connection info would provide the answer.
