YSF Reflector List Incomplete - as of today

The YSF reflector list is missing most reflectors starting today. I can't connect to anything I normally connect to. My default reflector still connects at startup, but does not show up on the list either. Do anybody know what's going on?

I’ve gotten a couple calls. It’s not just my openspot device. Others are not finding my reflectors in their openspot list either.

I do have it listed, and it is showing up, in the current and the future registration list servers.

There will be/has been a major change in the YSF registry as explained here:

I don't know the exact situation currently but you probably should ask elsewhere for more information.

Tyrbiter That change isn’t until June. I am in the current and the new registry anyway so that’s not the issue. There is no “elsewhere” to go. The problem is incomplete data being sent to the openspot devices.

rick25s OK well I am glad you know about this anyway, I don't know why it is broken but I was wondering if someone had maybe jumped the gun.

Tyrbiter Yeah, that crossed my mind too. It still can be the case I guess. Bringing a file in from a new registry, that may not be ready for primetime, or not formatted exactly the same, can cause problems like that.

Our database updates daily using the list at dvref.com
We no longer use registry.ysfreflector.de
Please write to the support of dvref.com and ask them why your server is missing.

HA2NON I'll do that, but you jumped the gun by switching to the new registry that we were only notified to change to a week ago. It's obviously not ready for production. The deadline date is June 1st. I'm sure only a fraction changed over. I did last week.

This was the announcement: Effective Sunday June 1, 2025 at 0000 UTC, the maintenance of YSFHosts.txt and YSF reflector registrations will be discontinued on the YSFReflector Registry and will commence on DVRef instead.

Falling between the stools is a common problem with this sort of change, I hope it all comes out in the wash.

Tyrbiter I hear that. :-) I'm pretty sure there will be a flood of emails and support tickets real soon because only a fraction of the reflectors are showing up in the list. I queried the dvref server through their API and all the registered reflectors are there, including mine. It will probably boil down to some kind of parsing issue, on whose side I have no idea. I have no doubt it will be fixed soon. I'm also being told that the devrf YSF list isn't even fully live yet.
