Hello All,
I am having issues with setting up my DMR with D-Star, although have no issue with Brandmeister and Fusion (profile 1 and 2) on different Zones within the DMR radio.
Do I need to set up a different zone on the DMR radio etc if so roughly how?
I managed to transmit on a gateway GB7 IC (Icom HQ Repeater) but was unable to hear anyone transmit back to me although I could see them transmit back to me on the dashboard (confirmed by repeated key ups buy the same transmitting station at my request). Is this because D-Star Users transmitting back to me need to use the call sign to call sign method as a private call similar to "Terminal Mode" within Icom D-Star transceivers?
"IF SO" this would explain why I am unable to hear them (?) BUT I note Icom repeaters running the new G3 version 3 software are able to work as a normal digital repeater with internet access instead of RF access. If so does the programing within the Open spot 4 pro able to achieve this in a similar way as the newer firmware versions of say an Icom 9700 using the new firmware/software?
Please see DV Repeater Monitor function new for D-Star users
https://www.icomjapan.com/support/manual/2160/
It would to be nice if in the dropdown tab withing the UI of the Open Spot 4 have and third option (DV Repeater Monitor) ie only the repeaters that are able to have this new function.
The CV lists are available from Icom download.
So in recap how do I get D-Star working with my AT handheld?
Is it reflector only for group calls (how do I set this up) or private calls (call sign to call sign) with gateway?
Thank you all...
