Wow! My M1KE has come to life since I figured out a few things I needed to do. I'm sure the seasoned M1KE users already know this stuff, but for us beginners...
First I found out that I needed to register my call several places (and probably more I don't know about). They are Radioid.net, TGIF.network, dstarusers.org.
One of the greatest helps is https://tgif.network/lastheard.php where you can watch all the different groups making contacts, just pick a 'talkgroup' # of the group you want to hear or join and (the easest way) enter it to the destination line, under the Mic tab in the M1KE computer screen.
I had some trouble understanding audio on some of the connections, then found out I could send the M1KE receive audio through my HIFI computer speakers... Wow! What a difference, here is how...
Under the 'Status' tab you will see 'status' line about the middle of the screen. To the right of the word 'status' you will see a volume bar, move it all the way to the right. To the right of the volume bar is a speaker icon, make sure it shows half circles to it's right and not an 'X'. Now your M1KE incoming sound will be on your computer speakers. You can now lower the volume on the M1KE to avoid an echo.
