Re: Able to receive but unable to transmit via openSPOT

I contacted them hoping to avoid shipping altogether, I only reviewed FedEx and UPS both > $100 to ship at the time. Looking at USPS though it's more reasonable so I will look into that perhaps.

Re: Able to receive but unable to transmit via openSPOT

Looks like it's gonna be a paperweight, sorry Norbert but I won't be paying over $100 to ship it back to Estonia. I do know though that I will not be suggesting to anyone to purchase these going forward, or if you have any troubles up front handle it immediately with the place that it was purchased ...

Re: Able to receive but unable to transmit via openSPOT

I did as requested and have the info to send it back. Having said this I have also tried a third DMR radio (Motorola Commercial) and have the same issues where even with the demod mode set to the one that has the lowest BER it still goes digital and sounds horrible when it does work. Honestly as muc...

Re: Able to receive but unable to transmit via openSPOT

Oh, and if I set to Demod mode D, E or F it will "autocal" and almost always selects mode E which actually seems much worse (watching the graph) than mode D.. any of them though have unacceptable performance.

Re: Able to receive but unable to transmit via openSPOT

1: There is no such thing as DMR Autocal for C4FM unless I am mistaken? 2: I have done this for all of the DMR radios and if I start on demod mode A it never even starts (because it doesn't 'hear' the radio. 3: Running 135 to see if it would help - it doesn't 4: C4FM is slighly better than DMR in te...

Re: Able to receive but unable to transmit via openSPOT

I have the same problem with my OpenSpot. I have tried several settings (including factory reset) and three radios (two DMR and one C4FM) with the same results. On DMR the OpenSpot won't 'hear' any radio on demodulation mode A or B. Then on C4FM it is has a very high BER, if I 'correct' the OpenSpot...

Re: OpenSpot Frequency Correction and/or demodulation weirdness

The issue is persistent on C4FM as well as DMR, and I am well aware of the GD77 cost and source this is why I also noted the FT2D... but if I have to hook it up to a service monitor so be it

OpenSpot Frequency Correction and/or demodulation weirdness

After troubleshooting for a considerable amount of time I have finally determined that the openspot seems to be just enough off frequency to cause some headaches. After monkeying with all demodulation types and various advanced settings on the openspot I finally decided to adjust frequency to make t...

Re: HTTPS (SSL TLS or.. YEAH)

I am aware that the IoT had nothing to do with SSL indeed. This said security is something that should be considered as a whole is the point that I poorly articulated. And the only confidential information that I send is the authentication password. When I use my openspot on a public network I would...

Re: Radioddity GD-77 and OpenSpot [DMR]

Replying to my own post... Demod Mode F is the only one that really works with the Radioddity GD-77, even though the auto-select tool always choses Demod Mode D..
