We plan to add a WiresX connector in a later fw upgrade.
Might this future addition of WiresX via fw upgrade also apply to the original openSPOT?

You can disable the authentication by setting an empty web server password.
Thank you Nonoo! I never even thought to do this.

Re: New Model OpenSpot

I am excited to see what SharkRF has come up with for their next generation product. I also recognize that since the openSPOT was first released the market for these types of devices has changed. Yes, you can buy knock-off Chinese boards on eBay and build something with similar functionality for muc...

Re: Let me stay logged into the openSPOT

I also like this idea... Better yet, if an advanced setting could also allow the user to specify the "timeout" time as a numeric text field or a pre-defined drop down menu. My thought is to have functionality similar to how one would configure the Auto-Lock setting in iOS (under display & brightness...

Re: List of recommended simplex freqs to use w/openspot?

I would look to the frequency coordinator for your area to see if there is a published local band plan... It's always best practice to try to stick to the band plan whenever possible. On the other hand the openSPOT is probably not going to interfere with satellite comms at only 20mw. As you're proba...

DMR AutoCal Mixed Results

Over the course of owning the openSPOT I have reset it a few times (generally when doing firmware upgrades). This is mostly out of habit as I like having a "factory default" when introducing newer software on my devices. I don't mind reconfiguring things as it helps me stay educated on the various s...

Re: IP address question

I agree with N7YO in that leaving the openSPOT firmware default of DHCP is probably a good idea... Regarding having a static IP... Most routers allow you to dynamically assign a static IP by putting a rule into the DHCP server settings. This is typically accomplished by obtaining the MAC from the op...

Thanks to SharkRF for putting out a great product...
And thanks to Norbert for being so attentive to customer questions!

Re: Status Bar App for Call Log/Status

I like the idea of a pop-out call log that displays only the call log element from the status page in a condensed format... I think there are a lot of folks who use the openSPOT that leave the dashboard status page open for the purpose of monitoring the call log and this seems like it would be a use...
