Re: Changing XLX Reflectors (servers) from a DMR Radio

Thanks, Norbert! That much I've figured out already, but it's not nuch of a solution if you want to change to any of the several hundred XLX reflectors on the fly from the front panel of the radio. I was kinda hoping there was a way to manually dial a private call to the number of the reflector in o...

Re: openspot and ID-51 programming

An easy way to do it is to highlight the ‘To’ field and hit the center button. Choose ‘Reflector’ from the menu, then ‘Use Reflector.’ That’s it!

Re: OpenSpot with Tp-Link setup

I received today, a Gli.net MT300N V2 nano router and had it connected to my iPhone 6S wifi hotpsot in 3 mins. This proving that the TP Link TL-WR802N is defective. BAD firmware. Do not buy the TP Link! I can recommend the Gli.net MT300N V2 nano router. It works and is easy to setup. I don't think ...

Re: Baofeng UV5R

The UV-5R is an analog radio, so it won't work at all. Does he have the DM-5R, perhaps? That's the Tier I radio that's unusable on repeaters...

Re: MOTOROLA DP4801e connect with openSPOT>>>HELP

Hi Luigi! Unfortunately, manually dialing a group call from the keypad is not possible (out of the box) in Motorola radios. Keypad entries can only be sent out as a private call, and therefore cannot be used to change TG's in Brandmeister (which are sent out as group calls). So, if you want to chang...

Re: MOTOROLA DP4801e connect with openSPOT>>>HELP

Not a problem! Oh, by the way, you can copy/paste channels in Motorola CPS so as to avoid re-entering the same simplex frequencies and default settings over and over. All you have to do (after creating a new digital contact for a new channel) is to *right click* the last channel created in the zone ...

Re: MOTOROLA DP4801e connect with openSPOT>>>HELP

Oh, I almost forgot. On the openspot Modem tab, you'll want to set your simplex frequency accordingly, as well as the DMR Demodulation Mode. When I calibrated my XPR7550, it set this option to Mode D, so that's likely what you'll want to use. If this setting doesn't work with your radio, go through ...

Re: MOTOROLA DP4801e connect with openSPOT>>>HELP

BTW, I have the XPR7550, which is essentially the same radio, and openspot works GREAT with it. When you get a working codeplug going, you'll want to take the next step to program the openspot and radio to change 'profiles' from the radio. You can set up a profile in openspot, for instance, for cros...

Re: MOTOROLA DP4801e connect with openSPOT>>>HELP

This is the video that got me pointed in the right direction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97HNQHmIuEs The video shows how to program repeaters, but the process is basically the same for openspot. The important distinction being that openspot operates in simplex, so the RX and TX frequency for *e...
