Re: 6M & 1.2 GHz. Integration

The openSPOT2's frequency range is limited by the used hardware components. You can see the frequency range on the Specifications page in the user manual: http://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot2/en/specifications.html Ohh... So as far as 1.2 GHz. is concerned, it's a moot point as that band is ALREADY...

6M & 1.2 GHz. Integration

I have an idea which might spur on usage of these bands (And developers to manufacturers to develop radios to operate on BOTH Analog AND Digital modes) That is a firmware upgrade to make it possible to transmit & receive on the 6M & 1.2 GHz. bands I'm not sure how it is in other parts of the world B...

External Radio & Antenna Attachment Option

Having just heard there's no such option currently available on the Openspot 2 & am on the brink of buying one myself (And having been an EchoLink RF Link sysop in a "Former Life" [emoji1787][emoji23], I believe that making this simple request at this time is appropriate Since the original Openspot ...

Re: Distributor within the US

So your waiting for a US distributor to happen but you don't order one direct and have it in 2 days. You must not be that impatient. I'm rather impatient myself. In fact I've REPEATEDLY brought up the idea of using Amazon as a distributor (One of the smartest moves Baofeng made in selling its radio...

Re: Mobile Hotspot Plans

I am only paying $45 for my Verizon business account for my iPhone with unlimited everything. There is no way to connect the Openspot 2 to an external antenna and even if you could range would be very limited so plan on using your mobile hotspot when you go mobile. Well OK... So I'll have to take m...

Re: 2 Openspot2 in use

I want to use 2 Openspot2 in close proximity to each other. 1 Openspot as a DAP-NET transmitter and the other one as a hotspot for DMR / C4FM, etc. Since everything is portable together in a small box, I'm a little worried because both devices sit quite close to each other (maximum distance 2-3 cm ...

Mobile Hotspot Plans

What is THE BEST Mobile Hotspot plan to run an Openspot on a mobile device AS A PRIMARY source of Internet service?? The reason I ask is because I won't have home WiFi for a month or two AFTER I get my Openspot next month (And I WILL GET ONE now that I know what must be done to pay for it) My curren...

Bluetooth??

Might be great for accessing a phone's 4G / 4G LTE connection whenever Mobile Hotspot isn't available

You could also use it to add TNC functionality to the Openspot so files can be sent & received via Packet Radio too [emoji23]

Thoughts??

Re: DPRS

It would be awesome to have this implemented. https://youtu.be/bSz08WPF9Ek Yeah but that's only for Kenwood radios though It wouldn't do anyone with a DMR radio any good (Unless one with an APRS chip came out) Besides, could you imagine the number of hotspots sending packets to 144.390 ?? It would ...
