The "pi-star programmers they locked out those freqs", they did not. I just switched over on my Pi-Star.

Re: Lock out AMSAT Freq's 435 - 438

Is it really SharfRF's responsibility to protect hams from themselves? Your post got me curious though. Yesterday I pulled the TX frequency of all 14,802 hotspots connected to Brandmeister. A summary is attached.

Re: Connected, but no traffic

If you haven't already, check out Alabama-Link and US-TGIF. Usually a lot of traffic there. And of course America-Link, but you already mentioned that.

Everyone would use your radio ID as the talkgroup ID.

Re: Voice control

Someone created an Alexa skill that talks to the Brandmeister API. It would be a roundabout way to voice control your OpenSPOT. I don't know anything about it, but I saw this video a while back.

Re: OS2 using IP Connector Server

I believe you can your personal DMR ID as a 7 digit talkgroup ID. This would ensure it's unique (i.e. not already in use).

Re: P25 Cross mode

No. It's beyond the scope of the SharkRF IP Connector Protocol server. A company called DVSI (Digital Voice Systems, Inc) holds the patent on the AMBE (Advanced Multi-Band Excitation) voice compression algorithm. You would need a hardware solution from DVSI, something like this , this , or this , to...

Re: Index.html

The log file location is clearly stated on the GitHub page for the SharkRF IP Connector Protocol server. " By default, srf-ip-conn-srv forks to the background and logs to the syslog (/var/log/syslog on Debian-based systems). " Has this really become an issue on your SharkRF IP Connector Protocol ser...

Re: P25 Cross mode

You have to understand that P25 uses IMBE voice encoding which is the same format used by Yaesu for VW (Voice Wide) mode. To cross mode P25 or VW to NXDN you would need a vocoder to transcode the audio to AMBE. This is not going to happen. No hotspot currently on the market has a built-in vocoder.
