Re: Analog radio only?

This would require an actual AMBE 3000 chip inside the OpenSPOT itself, which would raise costs (design, development, testing, manufacture, etc.). It would also probably require a beefier processor chip as well in order to decode/encode digital-to-analog on-the-fly as it flows to/from the analog rad...

Re: How do is set up a map2nd router to be used on a openspot?

I still have not been able to setup the map lite. I am able to set the map 2nd to connect to the internet but the openspot will not connect to the network. Do have the steps how to get the map lite to work? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Well, the RouterOS is difficult to setup until you read thr...

LCDproc support?

MMDVMHost now has LCDProc support rolled into it, allowing us with DVMegas to use an LCD status screen over the network.
Any way to roll up an LCDproc client into the OpenSPOT?

Re: Firmware update also via web interface

Yeah, I second this emotion.

Most routers and even some switches do this exact same thing nowadays.

Maybe in a future OS 2.0?

Re: OpenSPOT "mobile station" mode/repeater RF linking

It should work. What one end receives goes out to all clients connected to the IP server, so as long as you have the repeater-site OpenSPOT setup to use the same tx/rx freqs as any mobile/HT using the same repeater and then configure it to point to your IP server you should be good to go. I'm sure N...

Re: D-Star - Separate TX RX frequencies

The modem TX/RX isn't "full-duplex", it's only simplex.

Most compact portable OpenSPOT yet?
Tethers to my iPhone and runs off a single USB port on the 4000mAH battery.
I also have a 15,000mAH battery that's a little bigger.

Re: ID + CALL + NAME from database

This has already been requested, but querying an ID/callsign from an online source would add complex delays to the calls. Also the DMR ID database is too huge, it won't fit into openSPOT'S flash memory. Sounds to me like the OpenSPOT 2.0 not only needs wifi but about 8GB of flash or a USB port for ...

Re: Connecting Shark To Iphone

I use a mAP Lite myself. It's literally the smallest WAP you can find that's rock-solid and re-establishes connection to the iPhone after being power-cycled on/off like when cranking up the car, swapping USB batteries, etc.
