Re: Add BETTER DESCRIPTION Of ALL Reflectors

For starters, Yaesu has no control over FCS and YSF servers. They are independent of the Wires-X system and Yaesu would really prefer they weren't connected to Wires-X at all. Wires-X rooms (for the most part) have good descriptions. Look at https://www.yaesu.com/jp/en/wires-x/id/active_room.php for...

Re: OS2 Drops Connection To WiFi

I have had this one for over a year and use it 24/7. I have never had a problem with streaming TV or Fusion. The only problem is on D-Star and only recently (multiple reflectors). And if my 8800L was dropping connections my other devices hooked to it would drop as well and they don't. I have had th...

The VZW Jetpack you reference is famous for dropping connections. You should read the reviews posted at https://www.verizonwireless.com/interne ... 58#reviews

Re: Ethernet Port would make such a device just perfect!

I never travel without a "travel router". I always want to isolate my connections from the hotel as much as possible. Create your own network! This addresses your issue, especially if there's an Ethernet connection available. For wi-fi, log in with your phone's browser and connect to the router with...

HA2NON wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2020 4:08 pm Sorry, but I don't understand. The dump you've included also have the names in the format "Walter R".
There are separate data elements for the first and last name. "Walter R" is the first name element containing his first name and middle initial. The last name element contains "Dudley".

Re: DMR ID name lookup

I referred to radioid.net dumps. They only have names in the format "Jerry L". The openSPOT does not use city, state, etc. information. Here's a few lines from today's dump (user.csv), including my own callsign info. The "missing" info is most certainly included: 3135461,K3SLS,Steve,Siegel,North My...

Re: DMR ID name lookup

The entry for KD5LII looks like this in the database: 3154511","KD5LII","Jerry L",,,"United States" The entry for AD5EZ looks like this: "3150576","AD5EZ","Lloyd D",,,"United States" As you see, the openSPOT2 displays what's in the database. Actually, they look like this in the RadioID.net DB: 3154...

Re: APRS connector

Is there a slight misunderstanding in the discussion here? It is my understanding that OpenSpot2 sends the coordinates entered in the "Location settings menu", it does not have its own GPS and only send this info each hour or so. You can also have the OS2 send the GPS positions of your RADIO , but ...

Re: APRS connector

Where did you read about the 3-10 minutes recommendation? Simple search with Google. Many suggest as little as 3 min for a moving vehicle and 10 min for a stationary object (home, digi-peater). Considering that many vehicle route segments are less than an hour…the hour interval seems quite long, al...

Re: APRS connector

It is fixed at 1 hour. This update interval guarantees that the openSPOT location will be always shown on the APRS map. That's a pretty large difference from the generally accepted interval recommendations of 3-10 minutes (depending on the source). The shorter interval conforms with recommendations...
