Re: Color code mismatch in received stream from modem

I have manually adjusted the OS2 for minimum BER, it needed a +500 Hz offset. I have checked the hand held using a commercial grade Racal counter with GPS locked standard and it is +21 Hz, which isn't bad for a Chinese hand held. All sorted, it was the frequency difference by the look of it. BTW, wh...

Color code mismatch in received stream from modem

I am having trouble with connecting into BrandMeister today. I know there have been some issues, but others seem to be operating OK. If I set a busy talkgroup from the OS 2 "Tools" menu, it receives the traffic, but won't allow me to transmit. The talkgroup is shown correctly on the info page for my...

Re: Callsign database keeps failing to download

The OS2 resumes interrupted database downloads. It restarts the download only if it has been retried without success several times, or the device is rebooted. Please place it close to your Wi-Fi router. Except it was only 150mm from the Wi_Fi router. The download restarts over and over again, it go...

Callsign database keeps failing to download

I know this has been discussed several times, but it is really annoying that a 6MB file over a 20 Mb/s internet connection takes a long time, then fails. I am running firmware v67 and the callsign database typically reaches 60% before failing and re-starting all over again. The callsign database is ...

Re: Talker alias

The idea behind Talker Alias is that it should originate from the users radio, in the same way that D-Star sends a short message with each transmission.

As far as I know, only the AnyTone 878 currently includes T/A, even though it has been part of the DMR specification since 2016.

Re: Overall poor performance

The range of my OS2 easily outperforms the Chinese copy MMDVM board on my Raspberry Pi, even though the MMDVM board has a helical antenna attached. The issue with mine is the poor RX sensitivity of the MMDVM board, which is odd as it connects straight to the IC. What power level have you got the OS2...

Re: Problems With iphone

I use my OS2 tethered via an iPhone SE all the time, no problem at all. I can view the status page better with a PC or laptop, but don’t often need to see what is happening (ie auto connect on power up, just pull the power to shut down). Note, if you tether to a phone, the phone and OS2 need to be q...

Re: Radio Setup - ID 51A Plus2

With the Icom programming tool (CS-51) under digital\repeater list, find UK_DV_Nodes (or whatever is appropriate for USA simplex digital nodes). You should find several. Add another as type “DV Repeater”, name it Shark, sub name Node, Repeater callsign of your callsign<spaces>D (D being the last cha...

Re: Inconsistent connections to wi-fi networks

If you have neighbours using WiFi there is likely to be a clash. I’ve had mine running perfectly then struggle when I suspect a neighbour has switched a router on, the OS2 currently only uses the older 2.4GHz band and that can be very busy at times, I often see close to 20 SSIDs on an upstairs WiFi ...

Re: Connecting Icom id-4100a

Hi Lee I’m home for the moment, and quite busy for the next couple of days. I have an ID51 and an ID5100, I guess your 4100 will be similar. With the Icom programming tool (CS-4100?), under digital\repeater list, find UK_DV_Nodes (or whatever is appropriate for simplex digital nodes). You should fin...
