Re: APRS messaging

Thanks. Yes, I've been toying with an RX-only igate and learned that I need to make it out to the real digipeater covering the area every once in a while for messaging to get messages back. A few nights ago an OM messaged me on APRS to say hi when I was testing, and I was able to have an APRS QSO wi...

Re: APRS messaging

Understood.

What are the reasons that the server might not send an ACK to the Openspot? Or send a message to the Openspot that was sent from a HT (as that is also failing as well)?

Does this work for others still? I'm on beta v20. It was several beta versions ago when I last tested and it worked.

Re: APRS messaging

Understood. That is how the message is making it to my HT, via a local gateway/digipeater. However, the ACKs never make it back to the OS3. They are picked up by the RF network, and gated into the internet, but they never arrived at the OS3. After the retries and timeouts are exhausted the OS3 decla...

Re: APRS messaging

I used to be able to 2-way APRS message using the OS3, but I just tried again today and it fails. I'm able to send message from the OS3 to my HT, but not the reverse. Nor is a confirmed message shown as delivered successfully (i.e. the ACKs aren't making it to the OS3). I can see the raw packets fro...

Re: Couldn't send message to DAPNET

I have this same error and issue. The message appears as a notification message in red at the bottom left of the web page, like most temporary notifications. Nothing of use shows up in the debug console logs.

DAPNET RX Timeout?

Hi, The DAPNET Connector has a field for RX Timeout. What is the behaviour this controls? For example, does it control how long a received DAPNET message is queued for delivery? For example, if there's a QSO in progress and a message is received, will it only hold onto that message for 65s, and if i...

Re: Public Wifi

I think the trick is to use something like your phone to get through the captive portal, then clone the MAC address of it on the OS3, then turn off your phone's Wi-Fi. There seem to be settings that enable this on the Network page if you have Advanced mode enabled. Of course, once you've done that, ...

Re: D-STAR support for AutoCal

Ah, interesting. That surprises me. Granted, I don't really know much about what's going on with AutoCal for the other modes, but I figured it would apply to D-STAR as well. If it's not too complicated, could you shed some light on how the modes differ such that it's not needed? Or is there a spec/s...

Re: Openspot3 turns off

I experienced that as well on both v5 and v6. Mine will run down to about 5.4V then shut off without any change in the charge percentage or time remaining info either in the logs or UI. Just another question , at today I’m working v6 beta , but I can’t see the correct percentage of charge, is workin...
