Controlling openSPOT-3 with Yaesu FT-70DR?

Hi. I understand that I can send DTMF *AN where N is the profile number to switch profiles on the fly. But can I do anything else from the radio? For example, if I'm transcoding from C4FM to DMR, can I issue commands from the FT-70 to change talk groups? I can do a lot of nifty things with the Kenwo...

Kenwood TH-D74A/E and the openSPOT3: Powerful Combo!

The following two videos from K9WLW are essential viewing for people with both the Kenwood TH-D74A/E and the SharkRF openSPOT3. Apparently, there is a call sign list in the radio that can store up to 200 call signs, or in this case, linking commands. But wait! there's more! In the second video, he d...

Re: More Profiles

Nice response... simply buy more of our gear.

I bet the Openspot 3 has very little RAM.

CONTROLLING OpenSPOT from Kenwood D74, How Much Is Possible?

Hi. I want to use the Web UI less and my radio's keypad more, when it comes to controlling the Open Spot 3. I have the Kenwood TH-D74A, and have a DR memory set up properly to work with the OS. I know I can switch profiles using DTMF commands, but what else is possible? For example, is it possible, ...

Re: Call sign announcement talks over transmission

That is your radio announcing the callsigns, not the OpenSPOT3. For some of the related audio options, take a look at: 644 Callsign announce Off_/ Kerchunk_/ Except Kerchunk_/ My Station Only_/ All 645 Standby beep Off_/ On 914 Beep Off_/ On 915 Beep Volume Level 1 - Level 5 - Level 7 916 Voice Guid...

Does AutoCAL Always Get It Right?

I'm not experiencing a problem per se, just wondering something. Does AutoCAL always get the lowest BER when calibrating for DMR? If not, is there a way to override/improve on it? Again, I'm not experiencing a problem, just wondering more about what's happening under the hood, and if it's possible t...

Save money for a good cause when shopping at Radioddity!

Hi. If you need to do some shopping for Radioddity products, please use my referral code below. I'm not acumulating referral rewards for myself, but rather, combining 16 of them to purchase and donate a GD77 dual-band DMR HT to a blind or visually-impaired ham. (Disclaimer: I do not represent Radiod...

Is Autocal Only for DMR?

Hi.

Which modes benefit from running Autocal?

I've run it for my Radioddity GD77, discovering it needed an offset of 300 Hz. But, my D-Star radio, a Kenwood TH-D74A, seems to not require it.

thanks for any clarification.
