SOLUTION: N6UG solved this problem for us. On the FT-70DR when entering your callsign in the radio, it must be entered "exactly" how you originally registered on DStar. So, if you had your name after it, or HT, or anything else, that will keep you from transmitting "audio" on the REF/XRF reflectors.

I'm trying to help another ham configure his OS3 and wondering if anyone else has seen this issue ... FT-70DR with OS3 set to cross-mode to DSTAR is working, RF-wise. One thing I found out going from the FT-2DR to TH-D74A is it's not necessary to preface the A1-A5 with an "asterisk"; I simply send A and the Profile number and it switches.

I all ... I was having trouble switching Profiles with my new Kenwood TH-D74A using the *A1-A5 touch-tone command.
