Re: Kenwood TH-D74A Bluetooth Headset

I use a VXi BlueParrott B350‑XT with my D74 and FTM-400, works fine.
Just a note if you decide on this one, you'll need to use the D74's PTT to key up/release (the multi button doesn't work with the Kenwood, but does with the Yaesu)

Re: openspot and ID-51 programming

I use my openspot mobile on C4FM with an iPhone. One thing I do is turn off just about everything that wants to use cell data (I leave on e-mail/messaging stuff only) - if I don't do that the iPhone hotspot seems to get confused. The only way I've found out of it is to turn off the hotspot and re-en...

Re: I can't open "openspot" Help.

If I read this right, you plugged your openspot's ethernet port into your PC's ethernet port - right? If so, it probably won't work that way unless your PC has a DHCP server installed (which most don't). If possible, directly connect your PC and openspot to your router via ethernet cables - I'll bet...

Re: Fusion Setup

On the back of the 710 I played with, there's a data port. A little wiring action and away it went. You can run the Wires-X software in a digital or analog mode (It's fun to use a CCR and get to the rooms) The 3200 is an entry level C4FM radio, lots of limitations. I would keep eyes on QRZ swapmeet ...

Firmware 0087

Just tried the newest FW (0087) and in C4FM mode while doing DTMF room changes it loses connection (status flashed red) and never returns (unless you manually make changes or reboot). I stepped down to 0085 and have not had any issues. I have not checked to see what happens with D-Star or DMR, only ...

Re: Fusion Setup

Just a side note - you really don't have to get an FTM radio to access the Wires-X network. The HRI doesn't care if you're analog or digital (the wires-X system doesn't care either). I ran my HRI with a Kenwood D710 before I got another FTM radio and it worked fine. You won't have all the wires-x be...

Re: openspot and ID-51 programming

D-Star is really quite simple as the openSpot wrks just like a DVAP (which means it's like a direct connect) I'm not sure if you're doing this from the radio or using software, so I'll guess it's software.... (1) Set your operating Freq (the freq of the Openspot) (2) Set your mode (DV) (3) Name the ...

Re: wifi connection

I took one of my old Raspberry Pi's and made it a WiFi to Ethernet bridge and it's working fine.
The nice thing is that I only have to power the Pi, the Pi powers the Openspot :)
